I shared this story over on my Facebook wall last week on the actual date of our" 20 years since Broc (With no K) tracked me down". I wanted to bring some photos from over the years here in case I ever turn this blog into a memory book. It seems crazy that it's been twenty years because although we don't act like we've aged a bit, we now have five kids in their twenties!
A mushy long love story ~<3it span="">
Twenty years ago right about now I was at my desk at a little rental house In Orange Park, Florida. Brenna and Logan were 4 and 7 years old and already asleep for the night and I was working on an evaluation for work that was due the next morning. A message came acoss my computer (maybe the old AOL messaging?) and it said " Hi...This is Broc . Do you remember me?" I did remember him from when we had met briefly when we both lived in Austi…
Hooray for Spring! As fans of fair weather hiking, Broc and I have been lucky enough in the last month to hit up some gorgeous trails with very contrasting scenery.
In late April, we were in Texas and hiked at Enchanted Rock which is close to Fredericksburg. Then, in early May, we headed out intending to hike Table Rock in North Carolina and somehow ended up at Linville Falls. After both hikes, we said, "This was the best hike ever!" That's always a sign of a good hiking day."
My last few posts have been heavy on the writing and not very uplifting. This one is all about the images.
We are so happy to be back in Asheville but our hike to Enchanted Rock was definitely the highlight of our Texas trip. Here's a whole bunch of photos of our amazing day there.
We hiked for hours and in addition to the great trails and beautiful wide open scenery, we also saw a roadrunner, a very long snake that I almost stepped on and an animal that looked like black squirrel.
For the past several years, we have spent Halloween at ARGH ( a gathering of unschooling families) which has been held at cabins in the mountains of Tennessee. Due to some changes in dates and location, this year it fell on the week after Halloween. So, we decided have a party!
I have always loved Halloween and when the kids were young, I made most of their costumes and our whole family often dressed up. For this party, it seemed more of the adults dressed up in costume than the younger crowd. I'm so grateful for friends and family whether in costume or not and so happy for those who could make it to the party. Here are a few of the photos ~
Hope your Halloween is filled with Fun and Shenanigans and that you are safely in the center of any storm.
