Cozy Cold Florida Evening

We're in the midst of a cold spell for Florida with night time temperatures actually in the 30's! Very cold for us for November so we've had a fire the past couple of nights. I love the glow from the candles and the fire and the animals curled up beside us to stay warm.
Broc and I spent the afternoon at the Wild Ginger Pottery Studio which is our home away from home these days. We've been working on some Christmas presents and this is a mug Broc is making for a very special someone in the family. We stayed till closing time and he brought this home to finish up the handle.

Logan has been quite busy playing World of Warcraft since the expansion came out recently. Nothing like being all settled in his gaming chair with a cup of hot chocolate from mom (Thanks Logan for letting me take your picture for my blogging fun!)

Speaking of blogging fun...Here I am with two of our three animals and my new Birthday Present from Broc! A laptop which I absolutely love. I really do…

Cosmic Bowling with RCU

We met up with some of the families from our local unschooling group, The River City Unschoolers, on Friday night for Cosmic Bowling. Lots of fun getting to know each other a bit better on a cold Florida night.

It's been so fun getting to know some other radical unschooling families that actually live close by! We don't mind traveling to be with our unschooling friends but knowing some in our own neighborhood really is a nice bonus!

ARGH! Unschooling Gathering in Tennessee

I took this on an early morning walk right outside our cabin!

Pictures just can't begun to do justice to the beautiful fall foliage and amazing mountain views when we headed up to Tennessee to meet up with some other unschooling families for a few days.
Here Broc and I are up on top of Roan Mountain. We hiked on a part of the Appalachian Trail and behind us is Tennesse but we are gazing out over the mountains in North Carolina. We were only there a couple of days but hiked to the top of this trail twice.

Ren organized the gathering and here she is working on one of the art projects
More fall leaves. I just couldn't take enough pictures but none of them really captured the depth and beauty of all the colors.

One Hundred and Six

It's True! The Cake says 106. Mark (Brenna and Logan's Dad for those of you wondering who I'm celebrating a birthday with) and I celebrated with a joint birthday party this past weekend.
We met when our joint ages were 42 and now our joint ages are 106. I'm not about to explain how they all add up but Brenna seemed to think that these candles would be good birthday cake decorations. Funny. I don't feel 106.
(Okay....Mark was 18...and I was "older than 18 by 6" so
he was younger than both of the people in this next picture)

My favorite birthday present was Brenna coming home for the weekend. She brought her boyfriend, Jason. Brave guy . He met the whole family and didn't run for the hills.

Three generations.....More than 106

Brenna and Jason as they were leaving to drive back to college. Did I mention how much we liked him? We did. Broc surprised me with a laptop compu…
